The act of creation is the channel that can make sense of the daily surge of dissonance, anarchy, and confusion that is ever present. The artworks are non-objective by sight, but the deeper meaning lies within the color, the expressive mark, and the lines of text chosen for their seeming relevance. Sense can be made from non-sense.

The great open expanse of water brings relief to the vertical energy of daily life. By contrast the great horizon allows respite from daily constancy. The will dissipates and scatters into the ocean and is carried away by the tides. If the will is so strong that it overrides the calm it creates great movement. Wave momentum so strong that it pounds the will into the atoms that then rest and float away to a calmer shore.

These flying, buzzing creatures are constantly present—seen or unseen. With careful consideration these bugs are masterworks of engineering and biology—designed to persevere through the millennia—perhaps even outlasting us. Often these insects are seen in fleeting blurs, with only a basic understanding of their form. Captured in paint, ink, and pigment they lend themselves to expressive impressions of what might be, not what they actually are.
